The University offers many diverse opportunities for participation in co-curricular activities and encourages the development of student interest groups and activities. Prominent campus activities include Campus Activity Board events, Homecoming activities, Argo Arrival (welcome week), student organization events, fraternity and sorority life, and community service programs. These and other campus activities can be found using the University Calendar and in ArgoPulse, the University's online student involvement resource.

Involvement in co-curricular opportunities is a vital part of student life at the University of West Florida. The University officially recognizes over 130 registered student organizations that extend learning from the classroom into real-life situations as students learn to work in teams with a diverse membership, plan events, develop budgets, promote activities, and have fun. Several organizations prepare teams and projects to participate in regional and national competitions in their fields of interest. Students may also start their own organization or student interest group by contacting Student Engagement. 

The University also offers co-curricular activities in recreation, music, theatre, and various other organizations. 

Intercollegiate Athletics

The Intercollegiate Athletic program is comprised of competitive teams in fifteen sports: men’s teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, and tennis; and women’s teams in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, and volleyball. The Argonauts compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II, the Gulf South Conference (GSC), and the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference (NSISC). Championship playoff opportunities are provided in each sport. Each team plays a full schedule of competition with schools throughout the southeastern United States. The Argonauts have won 109 total conference championships (105 GSC and four NSISC) and 30 GSC All-Sports Trophies. The Argonauts have won ten national team championships and 24 individual national championships.

The University sports facilities include the UWF Field House (1,000 capacity), The Ralph “Skeeter” Carson Tennis Complex hosting twelve lighted tennis courts, Jim Spooner Baseball field (2,500 capacity), UWF softball complex (800 capacity), UWF soccer complex (1000 capacity) and Pen Air Field (approximate 6000 capacity). The UWF Aquatic Center has an Olympic-size, heated swimming pool, with two 1M and one 3M springboards.
