Essentials of AI and Generative AI Graduate Certificate

The online Essentials of AI and Generative AI Graduate Certificate from the University of West Florida provides the skills needed for students and professionals to explore the rapidly evolving fields of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), deep learning, large language models (LLMs), and generative AI (GenAI). In this certificate program, learners will explore the fundamentals of these growing technologies through practical projects, investigate the potential of AI to solve real-world problems while considering ethical and societal concerns. Students will gain conceptual understanding of text generation and prompt design by applying open-source models in cloud notebooks, and use that experience to build and train a chatbot. Students will also leverage AI in Data Science by building a data science pipeline, including exploratory data analysis, model fitting, and evaluating AI outputs. 

Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission into the University of West Florida Essentials of AI and Generative AI Graduate Certificate, you must:

  • Be admitted as a graduate non-degree or degree-seeking student.
  • Have at least one undergraduate course in statistics.

Program Requirements

To earn the certificate, a minimum grade of "C" is required for all courses with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
